This can be great fun but remember, many dresses have to be ordered early and then be fitted. Be sure to check on the timing that your dress shop recommends to avoid extra stress and cost.
Then there is a period of waiting. If you have a year or longer engagement there is a stretch of time that requires very little attention to the planning. If you have booked your vendors early you can enjoy this quiet time. As the date gets closer you will have details that require your attention to ensure everything is completed on time. These can include invitations, finalizing the guest list, ordering flowers and cake, setting the final menu, ordering tux rentals, purchasing bridal party gifts and determining the time, place and type of rehearsal dinner you would like to have.
