Hope is in Bloom on Cape Cod

Local Cape Cod Gardeners and Landscapers pitch in to help Fight Breast Cancer

In the same vein as popular television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with celebrity Ty Pennington, this non-profit hopes to ease the physical and emotional suffering of women going through breast cancer treatment with a unique makeover: the installation of a garden.

Dedham, Mass.-based Hope in Bloom has created gardens in Dennis, Harwich and Forestdale over the past few years with the help of designers Molly Hutt of Parterre Garden Services and Will Clark of Perennial Solutions.

This summer they are busy working on gardens for recipients in East Orleans and Falmouth. John Deer Landscapes in Mashpee is donating the East Orleans garden, which is being designed by Laura Kelley of Littlefield Landcapes in North Eastham, a cancer survivor herself. Paul Miskovsky of Falmouth is donating the other garden.

If you are interested in applying for a garden, go to www.hopeinbloom.org or call 781-381-3597.
