The Who, What, Wear of Cape Cod

All Wrapped Up

Dec 1, 2010 - 03:43 PM

Kimberley Deane’s intricate pieces are beautiful and wearable works of art. The Truro resident has been making jewelry for 20 years and seen her style evolve, but is most excited by the silversmithing and wire wrapping she is currently working on. All of Deane’s pieces are one of a kind and utilize sterling silver, precious and semi-previous gemstones. The jeweler antiques her sterling silver through a process called oxidation to give it a unique appearance. Her pieces range from earrings to seahorses and anchors.

“I am definitely inspired by my surroundings,” says Deane of the dunes, sea, and sky on the outer Cape. “I see a birds nest I like and I am inspired. My mind doesn’t focus on one source of inspiration. I dream about putting pieces together.” Find her work at Left Bank Gallery and Oceana in Orleans, and The Dancing Turnip in Provincetown as well as on the web at www.kimberleydeanejewelry.com
